I would be interested in hearing a rationale for why it would.
Preferably one that doesn't simply rely upon Buddhist or other
kinds of authority, but that actually makes a convincing argument.
(Not that a convincing argument can't refer to Buddhist scripture,
just that, at least in my opinion, that alone isn't sufficient.)
